Simon Bedford

Maths and Science Teacher
Mr Simon Bedford - Simon Bedford

Simon began his teaching career in 2007 after a diverse background in marketing in Hong Kong and the food and beverage industry in the UK. From his first school placement, he discovered his true passion was for education and has never looked back. He is inspired by George Bernard Shaw’s quote which starts with "This is the true joy in life: Being used for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one, being a force of nature..."Simon is dedicated to putting students at the heart of their learning journey, empowering them to take ownership and responsibility for their achievements. He believes a teacher’s role is to open doors, but it is the students who must choose to walk through them. His mission is to help every student unlock their potential, both as learners and as global citizens.

He firmly believes that academic success should be grounded in students' happiness and well-being, with a strong sense of community at its core. Working in partnership with parents and colleagues, he strives to create an environment that supports the emotional, creative, intellectual, and social development of each child.

Integrity, respect, empathy, and compassion are the foundation of Simon's approach to teaching. He is committed to nurturing the emotional and intellectual growth of students, helping them build the confidence and self-efficacy necessary for independent learning.

Originally from New Zealand, Simon spent much of his childhood in Hong Kong and the Far East before attending a British boarding school at the age of ten. Simon enjoys exploring Moscow, staying active at the gym, reading, and indulging in his passion for scuba diving whenever possible.
