The British College of Brazil’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is underpinned by these three principles. They inspire our teachers to deliver interactive and thought-provoking lessons that stimulate and engage our children.
Lessons are planned to suit a range of abilities so that every student can improve their skills and knowledge. We encourage each child to actively participate, too. Assistant Teachers work alongside our international early years curriculum experts in each year group, which gives our lead teachers the time and space to provide specialist attention and monitor progress.
We strive to create an environment where our international kindergarten children feel at home and are excited to explore new concepts. We encourage self-discipline, a sense of responsibility, and respect for others. Our classroom walls have many displays of the children’s arts and crafts, as well as language-based information that encourage their literacy skills. Our displays and ever-changing role-play area further stimulate our students’ enthusiasm.

At The British College of Brazil, Assistant Teachers work alongside class teachers in every Primary year group (Pre-Nursery to Year 6). This allows every student to have more personal attention from a staff member, and for teachers to closely monitor their progress.
Primary children work for most of the week with their class teacher, although our specialist teachers lead certain subjects, such as Portuguese, Brazilian Social Studies, Music and Physical Education. All teaching staff speak English and have appropriate teaching qualifications and experience in delivering the English National Curriculum’s objectives.

We understand that robust academic results are essential to success beyond The British College of Brazil’s high school, and our secondary school curriculum provides every opportunity for our students to excel and reach the university of their choice.
Success in life, however, requires more than good grades. It requires confidence, independence, presence, the ability to lead, and the discipline to apply oneself. Our commitment to helping students develop these attributes is in our School Charter. It also relies on our rich and varied international and British high school programme.
