  • How does the admissions process work at LIS Chengdu?
    Our admissions process is designed to be as straightforward as possible, and is tailored to the needs and schedules of prospective families.

    Your admissions journey will start with our dedicated team, who can answer your questions, arrange an in-person or virtual tour of our campus, and introduce you to our highly qualified teachers and staff. You can get in touch with us today via our online enquiry form.

    After speaking to our team and taking a tour, you'll need to complete an online application form and parent questionnaire. As part of our entry requirements, you’ll also need to submit some supporting documents alongside your form.

  • How long does the admissions process take?
    From the moment you get in touch with us to the point we consider offering your child a place, our admissions process should take no more than two weeks. However, this does depend on your plans and schedule.
  • Can my child join LIS Chengdu at any time?
    Yes, we accept applications all-year round, as long as we have places available. 
  • How much are your school fees? And what do they include?

  • What does the school's calendar look like?
    LIS Chengdu follows an international school calendar, with the academic year starting in mid-August and finishing at the end of June.

  • What qualifications do your teachers have?

    At LIS Chengdu, we only hire the best. We devote a significant amount of time and resources to recruiting top teachers from around the world. We also pay great attention to our educators’ ongoing professional development, ensuring they are at the forefront of educational innovation.

  • What languages do you teach at LIS Chengdu?
    English is the main language of instruction at LIS Chengdu.

    We also offer a range of foreign languages, including Mandarin and French, which are taught by specialist teachers. Mandarin is available from Pre-Nursery through to Year 13, while students can learn French from Year 7 onwards. We also offer Korean to native speakers in Years 5-13.
  • Is LIS Chengdu an accredited international school?
    Yes, LIS Chengdu is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). We are also a member of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS).
  • Is Léman’s curriculum recognised by other international schools and universities?

    Yes, our British and international curricula are recognised by top universities and colleges worldwide. Our IB Diploma Programme, for example, is viewed by higher education providers as the gold standard in global education.

    Our school is fully licensed by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and our SAT and IB Diploma exams are accredited by the same examination boards used by schools in the UK, USA, and elsewhere.


  • What extracurricular activities do you offer at LIS?

    Our extracurricular programme offers something for everyone, ensuring your child has the chance to do what they love and try new things. From learning to code to representing one of our Red Panda sports teams, we offer a broad variety of activities that encourage our students to showcase their talents and pursue passions.

  • What trips and expeditions do you organise?

    Our students broaden their horizons on local, national, and international trips beyond the classroom – including Nord Anglia expeditions to Tanzania and Switzerland – where they form lifelong friendships and develop a global perspective.

    As part of our curriculum, all students in Years 5-11 embark on week-long trips across China. They explore different provinces and regions, growing in confidence and independence, and learning to work as a team.
